How to Cook Perfect Pan-Seared Salmon.

Pan-seared salmon fillet with crisp skin with herbs in a plate

Serves: 1-2 · Prep: 5 min · Cook: 8–10 min

Make It

  1. Remove salmon from the fridge and let sit at room temperature for 5 minutes.

  2. Pat dry and season with sea salt and black pepper.

  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat and lightly coat with avocado oil spray.

  4. Place salmon in the pan, skin-side down if applicable.

  5. Cook 4–5 minutes without moving, until the salmon releases easily from the pan.

  6. Flip and cook another 2–3 minutes, until just cooked through and opaque.

  7. Remove from heat and serve.

Notes

  • Salmon cooks quickly and should be removed as soon as it flakes easily to avoid drying out.

  • Finish with lemon juice or fresh herbs (dill, parsley, chives, tarragon, cilantro, basil, thyme) if desired.

  • Enjoy warm or cold on next day salad.
