Healthy Pumpkin Spice Latte.

Healthy pumpkin spice latte recipe for weight loss

Serves 1 · Prep: 2 min · Cook: 5 min

Make It

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine ½ cup unsweetened milk of choice, 1½ Tbsp pumpkin puree, 4–8 drops liquid stevia, and ¼ tsp pumpkin pie spice. Whisk well and heat until it starts to bubble around the edges.

  2. Remove from the heat, add ½ cup strong brewed coffee or 2 espresso shots, and whisk again.

  3. For foam, use a milk frother, whisk vigorously, or blend for 20 seconds.

  4. Pour into a mug and dust with extra cinnamon.

Make It Your Own

  • Milk: full-fat dairy, organic cashew, coconut, or almond for creaminess

  • Sweeter: monk fruit instead of stevia

  • Make your own pumpkin pie spice: 3 Tbsp Ceylon cinnamon + 2 tsp ginger + 2 tsp nutmeg + 1 tsp cloves + ½ tsp allspice. Makes about ⅓ cup, enough for the season.

Notes

  • A grande PSL at Starbucks carries 50g of sugar, and 39g even with nonfat milk and no whip, because the sugar is in the pumpkin sauce. This version gets its sweetness from the pumpkin and a few drops of stevia.

  • Start with 4 drops of stevia and add more to taste. Brands vary in sweetness.

  • Pairs with a Strategic Snack, or alongside your breakfast.
