How to Make Easy Guacamole

How to Make It

  1. Cut 3 ripe avocados in half, remove pits, and scoop flesh into a bowl.

  2. Mash with a fork to desired texture (chunky or smooth).

  3. Add juice of 1 lime, ½ tsp sea salt, and a pinch of black pepper*.

  4. Taste and adjust lime or salt to preference.

  5. Serve immediately.

Notes

Ripe avocados are key. They should yield to gentle pressure but not feel mushy. To ripen faster, place in a paper bag with a banana. Skip store-bought guac, which often contains fillers and preservatives. Fresh takes 5 minutes and tastes infinitely better.

*For traditional guacamole: fold in ¼ cup diced red onion, 2 tbsp fresh cilantro, 1 small jalapeño (minced, seeds removed), a pinch of cumin, or ¼ cup diced tomato.
