Sage and Basil Pork Sausages.

Healthy breakfast sausages | Eat Shed Glow® high-protein weight loss recipe

Serves: 2 (4 each) · Prep: 10 min · Cook: 10 min

Make It

  1. In a bowl, mix 9 oz (250g) ground pork with sea salt, black pepper, 2 Tbsp chopped fresh sage, and 2 Tbsp chopped fresh basil.

  2. Combine well and shape into 8 sausages.

  3. Heat 1 Tbsp coconut oil in a large non-stick pan over medium heat.

  4. Cook the sausages, turning occasionally, until well browned and cooked through.

  5. Serve hot, or refrigerate for a Strategic Snack or the protein in any Balanced Meal.

Notes

  • Fresh sage and basil are what make these taste like breakfast sausages rather than plain ground pork. Dried works, but use around 2 tsp of each.

  • Using ground chicken or ground turkey instead? Add 1 to 2 Tbsp water or milk, since lean meat dries out without it, and cook until fully opaque and firm.

  • Make a batch on Sunday and you have protein ready for breakfast, lunch, or a snack all week.
